J's Chimes: The Real And The Fake

Are you buying the real stuff? That is the question that crosses my mind when hunting for such scale models. Seriously speaking, yes indeed I was also cheated off by such items put on sale so never again would I be buying things blindly from then on. So here's a little tip to check the models that you're buying so that you get what you really want for your money worth:

1.) The Price - One of the easiest way to determine its authenticity is the pricing of the product. If it's too darn way below cost price, be wary... And especially so when such are discounted items or offers at low price.

2.) The Package - Although some may be easy to spot, do not be fooled by its packaging. Even the most experience person could not identify well whether its authentic because at times it's normally made so similar to the real deal. See the item inside for a better picture. For example the model and the workmanship of it.

3.) The Place - Once again, the location where these models are sold (Whether it's a genuine store or a run down shack) does not mean its authentic or not. Sometimes even a well establish store may have fakes in it (Not to mention names in Singapore...). So check the product well...

4.) The Piece - Check the item! If you gonna buy it and own it, check it well! As seen in the picture, the difference can be seen by the material its made off and its workmanship. The fake one to the right uses a much lower grade plastic than the one on the right. Differentiated by its radiance, the fakes are usually bad in its details, fading colors, broken or loose parts which can be easily seen through the transparent coverings.

5.) The People - Yup. Check out the person selling you the stuff. Ask the staff personally and if you'd know that the toys are fake but they insisted that it's not, something is wrong. And if he doesn't know much about it, you know what to do...

6.) The Product - Last but not least, know your product well. Know where to get the authentic goods and don't be scam by some swindlers who wanted to make a quick buck selling you fakes of anime models you hold so dearly to...

So next time when you're planning to buy any Scale Models, be sure to look out for these 6Ps before making your purchase. Only then will you be safe rather than sorry...
